Free unless we win

Free unless we win isn’t applicable in all areas of the law; it depends on the case. In certain types of lawsuits such as personal injury and debt collection cases, the attorneys accept a percentage of the money the client recovers as the fee for services. It’s called a contingency fee because the law firm getting paid is “contingent” on them winning your case.

In other types of legal cases or other legal services, attorneys may charge a flat or fixed fee or an hourly rate. Except for family law and criminal law cases, any representation in Florida may be paid on a contingency fee basis.
