Roundup’s developing company, Monsanto, has been sued by farmers and consumers for the failure to warn of the toxicity of their product. In the past two years, jury decisions have ruled against Monsanto, claiming that the company knew for decades that glyphosates and Roundup could cause cancer, and many more have been filed alleging that Roundup has caused the development of some cancers.
In August of 2018, a California jury awarded $289 million to a pest control manager who developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and in March of 2019, another California jury awarded $80 million to a man who used Roundup for 26 years to control weeds on his property. In Nebraska, farmers have filed a class action lawsuit against Monsanto, alleging that Roundup caused the development of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
